Web Page Updated!
Hiddy Ho Pussycats!
Well, It took me 2 days BUT I finally got the
Weezi web page updated.


The only problem is that the updates page is
kinda screwed up and is showing blogs from 2006!


So, this is a test for the Updates bag
as well as to let you now that there are all
new photos on the web page.


Some of the bags and things you may have seen, some not.

I PROMISE not to let it lag ever again for so long!!
It is shameful how behind I got in updating it.


Sorry!!!! It looked so tired...how embarrassing!

But it is all good now!
Soon Adam and I will be working away on an all new page!

Bags made out of Coats

Bags made out of CoatsHiddy Ho Pussycats!
I finally got my butt around to making these leather coats
into tote bags.
Truth be told I was a little bit nervous to cut into them.
I didn't have an overall game plan and I was afraid
that I might screw them up.

So, I mustered up my courage over the last couple of days and
cut into these jackets.


This coat had great sleeves!!


I didn't get to utilize the sleeves as much as I thought I would.
They were just too big....too much leather to work with.
I fought with this one for a long time!


But- it turned out great!


I was able to use the front lapel, the front pockets and I
cut up the rest of the sleeves to make the ruffle on the top.

With this next one I goofed and forgot to
take a picture of the bag before I cut into it...opps!


I think my new "thing" for this leather bags are the ruffles
at the top of the bag.


I love doing this!
I think it makes it cute and feminine but
not junior in any way.

Again, I used the front pockets and lapel.
I saved the waist closure snap and used a flap from the shoulder (ick!) as
the front closure.

They are as always one of a kind and in the studio now.
I have 2 more days of bags and then it is back to dresses
and tee shirts.

I had to make this great sweater bag a hobo too.


I think it has something to do w winter.
I blame winter for everything!

The Story of Stuff

Happy New Year Pussycats!
I found this very interesting web site that I would like to share w you.
It is called The Story of Stuff

It is a look at our insatiable need to consume and the repercussions.
It is not preachy but very interesting.
There is a small video that I watched and enjoyed.
I like that they are working at getting buy to think about why the "stuff"
out there is so cheap in certain places.


Those who know me well know that lately I been having issues
with dollar stores.
I have AWAYS had issues w Walmart and big box stores.


But the question that I have been asking myself lately is HOW can this only be a dollar???
How can all these things be so cheap??? What is the catch??
Are they covered in lead paint?

I am not a big time shopper - but I
do try and make a difference when I spend what little money I have.
I (for obvious reasons) advocate supporting independent businesses.
Milos and I try to eat mostly at independently owned restaurants.

I think it is REALLY important to think about where you are spending your money
and why you shop where you shop.

I understand why we all go to the dollar store, it is cheap-period.
But many times I have all this stuff in my basket and then I stop and ask myself do I really
need all the items in this basket and do I need to buy it here.

Don't get me wrong-I am not rollin' in the dough and try to save money where I can.
But- should I buy that item at the dollar store OR is my money better spent on an item purchased at a locally or even Canadian owed business?
It may cost me a couple of dollars more and will possible last longer.
Really- is this about need- or want???

I don't intend to start the new year all "preachy" but
is that it is good to think these things thru.
To make better informed decisions about how we spend our money and how we allow the media to influence our pocket books, our egos and perceptions of ourselves and others.

The big questions for me is HOW can that be a dollar and what are
the consequences of it being a dollar??

It is about 20 minutes to watch the interesting little video.
It isn't the most fascinating video I have ever seen but it has
some fabulous points and really breaks down the big picture and gets you thinking.

It is a great web site to pass along, I think.

Oh the Clean Up!!!!!

Things have been crazy here in the last month and I have the mess
to prove it!
I have spent the last 2 days trying to get my studio
organized and ready for January.


What a bloody mess!!!


The hard part for me is what to keep ....
('cause you never know when
you are going to need it!)


I can't start a new season in a mess...BUT truth be told I love
to clean and organize stuff.

As soon as I get this all put back together it will
will be all about new Weezi bags and dresses.

So, yesterday I finally finished a ba

2 weeks?????!!!!!!!! Holy S%*T!!!

Hiddy Ho Pussycats!
Yep, as I sit here and look at the calender...2 weeks today.
Yikes, I am sooooo not prepared. I had better get organized or
everyone is getting a record bowl for Christmas.

So, yesterday I finally finished a bag that I was very excited about.
(FYI- I am not always very excited about how some bags turn out.)
I made this one from a leather jacket that had been discarded.
It was a wee bit tricky to figure out the best way to sew it together
but it turned out great.

I left the back as it was.

The closure is actually a coat clasp that I turned upside down.
I am getting tired of just buttons and buttonholes.

This is the first of many...I have a few coats upstairs ready
to be "Weezi-ized"!

What else????
There are a couple new small bags in the studio.Small blanket bags.
