The Margo Dress

Hiddy Ho Pussycats!
I was working on this dress yesterday.
I am calling this dress the Margo Dress.


I did the fittings on myself.
Not much to fit really.
I used an old pattern from the 60's and
they fit quite well as a rule.

I wanted to check on how the sleeve fit (ick)...
and how much shape there was to it
and how the rolled collar sat.


I decided it needed a bit of gathering in the front
to update it a bit.


Everything fit great.I took it in a bit at the sides
to give it a bit more shape.
Very nice.

So, I tried to take a couple pics
to show the finished dress...
Jeeze! I don't know which is worse...
taking pics of red things or black things.

Anyhow...these are just
to wet your whistle as they say.

A straight, loose, 60's cut.
3/4 sleeves
White rolled collar
Small pleats in the center front.
Back zipper.


I really love how these turned out...


I am sorry you can't really see how great they are..
You will just have to come in and see for your self.

As of today 1 small and 1 medium.

Very 60's...a little "Factory Girl"..
a wee bit Jackie O.
Will do more in other colours.

Vintage Patterns

Well...it is pattern making time again
and I have using these gems.


I am REALLY into the whole A-line, babydoll
look right now.
My issue is what to do with sleeves...
Sleeves are the bain of my existence.


I know this is maternity..
but it is going to great as a jumper.


I have some FABULOUS fabric for this dress already.


It is supposed to be used for curtains...
but not in the Weezi studio.

It's like The Sound Of Music
all over again.

Give me a week or so and these will be in the
Weezi studio.

I would like to introduce
you to my lovely boyfriend

For those of you who have never met him...
He is my boyfriend of 5 years.
He is from the Czech Republic.
He is VERY knowledgeable about beer.
He is going to be helping me in the
studio for the next little while.


If you are asking your self why I am
telling you this...
it is b/c when you come to the Weezi studio
you will most likely find him
working away there on his laptop.

He is very friendly and can be of some help
to you if you need.
He will page me to run down
when you come in...I will be
next door in my other studio sewing.

FYI- he is very cool..not at all strange or weird.
Well, maybe after too many shots of Becherovka.
But who isn't strange after one too many shots?!

Will be posting new things i am working on over the weekend.

My new obsession is making them out
of blankets and throws.

My best gal pal Toria recently brought me
the mother load of blankets and sweaters.


I am in heaven!
I am going to be cutting up warm woolies
all weekend.
Then it is on to more hoodies and tees.

One of my recent creations was
this skull dress...


LUV how it turned out...


I only made 2 a small and a medium.
I may be talked into making more....maybe.

Not very mature I know...but I
never claimed to be very mature.

I decide to crank up the stove and start dying slips.

Most people think of going to the beach on a day like today.
Me?....I decide to crank up the stove
and start dying slips.



What can I say????
When the mood strikes I gotta go with it!

So, I started with blue...
The colour looked a wee bit grey
and thought i would have to add more.

But after a few minutes the colour
really took.
After about 20 minutes I was very pleased!

The blue was amazing.

I am not a fan of royal blue so I
was hoping for more of a
periwinkle colour.

After that i added some red and
tried for a purple of some sort.

What i got was a fantastic burgundy colour.

Again..i thought the colour may be diluted.
But i was very wrong!

This photo makes the slips look more red then burgundy.

So, now they dry and tonight I will
sew on pretty contrasting lace
and get them posted ASAP!

Ok, I luv the heat BUT even I am
feeling this.
I have been sewing in the attic
and it is a wee bit stuffy and "hawt"!

First, the debit machine is not an urban myth
even though it feels like one!
yep...there it is!

Here are just a few things that are new.

I am in a "skull" kinda mood i guess....


There are a couple new round skull bags.

Can I just say..that I am having a hell of
a time with my camera.
I am sorry that the colour in the pics isn't
that great...I am fighting
with the camera and the camera is winning!

Red is THE hardest to photograph!

Maybe i should make everything in blk and white!!!
Ah..no that isn't very Weezi-like is it?

I am into yellow skulls these days too...


..and of course polka dots.

RE-worked denim skirts are
always a crowd pleaser!

A leopard flower with red outline.
Luv it.

And a mini with red skull and leopard outline.

The trim at the bottom is a red cotton with
mini white polka dots.
